Remediation
Remediate an Exit Quiz
You need to remediate an Exit Quiz if you did not take it in class or if you scored a 2 or less. Click the link. Log in to ALEKS. Go to assignments. Select the Exit Quiz that you need to remediate.
Remediate a Unit Assessment
You must remediate a Unit Assessment if you scored below 70%. You may remediate a test if you scored 70% or higher by sending an email request to Mr. Johnson. Click the link above. Log in to ALEKS. Go to assignments. Select the Unit Assessment that you need to remediate.
You need to remediate an Exit Quiz if you did not take it in class or if you scored a 2 or less. Click the link. Log in to ALEKS. Go to assignments. Select the Exit Quiz that you need to remediate.

Warm-up
5 minutes of practice on math facts and fundamentals. Randomly selected students are awarded prized each day if they complete the warm-up in the allotted time.
Lesson
New material is presented using a variety of strategies and media. Students engage and participate in the discussion.
Application
Students work in collaborative groups to solve problems, engage in task-based learning, and apply new content.
Practice & Mixed Review
Students drill and practice on the new lesson content. They also complete several exercises from previous topics.
Exit Quiz
Students take a 5-prompt quiz covering the big ideas from the lesson.
Class Policies
-Personal electronic devices are confiscated on sight. A parent/guardian must retrieve the phone from Mr. Johnson.
-Tardy students must wait outside the classroom until invited to enter.
-Disruptive behavior may result in additional exercises that must be completed before you may report your Classwork score.
-Classwork is accepted up until the date of the Assessment to which it corresponds.
-If you are not in class to grade your classwork and report your score, you may come in any day after school or Monday during Target Time to do so.
Your Grade
As a student, your grade comes from Classwork (5 pt.), Exit Quizzes (5 pt), and Assessments (100 pt). There are approximately 15 Classwork packets, 15 Exit Quizzes, and 3 Assessments per quarter. Your grade is based on the percentage of the available points that you earn. A letter grade is assigned using the standard grading scale for HHS.
